Daniel, "Danny" Vilmanyi, 92 of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully, Monday, October 23, 2017, at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church at 5205 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302, Pastor Jeff Brower will be officiating. Dan was born March 7, 1925 in New Brunswick, NJ to his Hungarian parents Louis and Barbara Vilmanyi. Upon graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and was a WWII Veteran. On October 14, 1950, he married June K. Learn in New Brunswick, whom he met while working at Johnson & Johnson. Dan worked for J & J and Ethicon his entire career and was a dedicated company man, 41 years. Dan & June raised their three daughters in Bridgewater, NJ and they all enjoyed summers at their cabin on the Delaware River. Dan was a lover of life and appreciated the beauty of nature, he loved fishing with his wife, daughters, grandson and his many fishing buddies. He was an excellent swimmer, loved collecting artifacts, enjoyed history, was a great story and joke teller. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Daniel is survived by his two daughters, Doreen C. LoCicero and her husband Robert Perkins of Miami, FL, Susan G. Vilmanyi and her husband Frank N. Zarb of Douglaston, NY; one grandson, Benjamin Daniel LoCicero of Miami, Florida, and his nephew and several nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Barbara, his brother Nicholas and sister Clara, his daughter Kathy and his beloved wife June. He lived a long, good life and will be missed.
