On Thursday morning, October 12, 2017 - Darlene Lucille Lindquist went Home to Jesus and reunited with her beloved husband, Ron, in Heaven.

Darlene was a Christmas baby, born on December 24, 1939, in Kane, Pennsylvania to Gil and Dee Swanson. She was raised and went to school in Bradford a few miles north of Kane. After graduating from Bradford High School, she went to work at a downtown Bradford jewelry store. This is where she met a young man, Ronald Lindquist, that had come in to have his watch fixed. On June 14, 1958 Darlene and Ronald were married. Not long after they were married the couple moved to Wichita Falls, TX. This proved to be a great place for Dar and Ron as they started their family with the birth of their 1st Son, Timothy Alan on February 20, 1960. They added the middle son, Kevin Kent, December 15, 1961 and their 3rd and final son, Steven Jay, February 25, 1964. In 1966 big changes came for Dar and the family when Ron was transferred to Houston, Texas. However, this turned out to be one of God's blessings for the family as her only daughter, Laura Ellen was born on September 5, 1968. The family lived in the Houston area until finally finding the home of Darlene's dreams in Kingwood, Texas. Kingwood was home for over 35 years.

Darlene worked throughout the years as secretary / administrative assistant for a few Houston companies including Amigos de las Americas, Texas Society for the Prevention of Blindness, and finishing her career at Pennzoil in 1986. Darlene's greatest job and her passion was as a mother to her 4 children. God truly blessed Dar with compassion, tenderness, and faithfulness. As a mother of 3 boys and 1 girl it was only natural that she became a sports fan, spending many a day / night at little league fields and softball fields. One of Darlene's favorite blessing came on March 31, 2006 with the birth of her only natural grandson, Aaron Keith Lindquist.

Darlene was a great woman of faith. She was always active with her church if not attending the service she could also be found singing in the choir. Darlene was also a leader in the church. She spent 25+ years with the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Darlene was a part of the WELCA board for many years including President for a time.

Darlene is preceded in rest by her husband, Ronald, Lindquist. Her father, Gilbert Swanson, mother Emma Adina Swanson (Sorenson), her brother K. Kent Swanson, and sister-in-law Marie Swanson.

She is survived by her sons - Timothy Alan Lindquist and wife Maria, Kevin Kent Lindquist and wife Cathey, Steven Jay Lindquist and wife Sharon. Daughter - Laura Ellen Bridges and husband Steve. Grandsons - Aaron Keith Lindquist, Gavin Kyle Wheeler, and Shane Wheeler. Great Grandchildren - Shane Wheeler and Shawn Wheeler, Mikayla Guy and Dylan Guy. And many nephews, nieces, and extended family members.
