David D. Rounsaville, 70, of Holland, MO passed from this life Monday, April 23, 2012, at his home.
Born in Anguilla, MS to Clyde and Emma Lillian Lyles Rounsaville, he was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Holland Baptist Church. He retired from Nibco, where he worked in the maintenance department.
David was a musician and entertainer and had played with Jerry Lee Lewis. He also accompanied Tommy Cash in Las Vegas. He was the Holland City Marshall and Supervisor for the Holland Water Department. He had organized fundraisers around the 4th of July for several years to benefit the beautification of the Holland City Park. He also worked for South Pemiscot Schools in maintenance, janitorial and as a bus driver and often played the piano at lunch to entertain the children. When his health declined, he enjoyed being around the house with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter, six brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Larna Stivers Rounsaville, of the home; children, LaNan Lewis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Gayla Hoskins and husband, Wendell of Steele, MO and Jeremy Rounsaville of Holland, MO; one sister, Donna Gooch and husband, Larry of Memphis; four grandchildren, Michelle Rounsaville and Thomas, Hadley and Louis Hoskins; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00pm in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Dunavant officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Cobb Funeral Home. Online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
