David E. Sucharski of Springfield, Delaware County, PA and also Ocean Gate, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, Maple Shade, and Havertown died peacefully at home on March 21st. Loving husband of Caryn Lee (Filipczak); beloved father of Natalie Gregory (Jonathan) of Drexel Hill, PA, David of New York, NY, Caroline of Orlando, FL, and Lisa of Springfield, PA. Dear son of the late Zeney E. and late Florence Sucharski (Gaiderowicz), and Roselle Reznik Bartkowski, brother of Frank (Cathy) of Brigantine, NJ and Robert (Maria) of Philadelphia, PA, stepbrother of Thaddeus J. (Bonnie) Bartkowski of Villanova, PA and Rosemarie (Ed) Milewski of Cinnaminson, NJ and cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

David attended Saint John Cantius Elementary School, St. Joseph's Preparatory School, LaSalle College where he received his BA in Psychology, and the American Academy McCallister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City.

In his early years, David, along with his brothers Frank and Bob, began a long and successful career in music as "Frank Sucharski and his Polka Ambassadors." Playing saxophone, clarinet and singing for The Polka Ambassadors, they entertained up and down the East Coast for forty years as concert, TV, radio, and recording artists. David was a founding member of the American Legion Post #821 Marching Band, which had a prize winning and successful run performing in parades and concerts throughout the area, and became a staple in the annual Bridesburg Community Memorial Day parade.

For the past 35 years, he was a member of the Associated Polish Home, Polish American Congress and former President of the Rotary Club of Haverford Township. For 20 years, David chaired their local Adopt-a-Highway Program. In his early funeral years, he served with many local funeral homes in the Philadelphia area, along with working next to his uncle and father at the Walter E. Sucharski Funeral Home. For the last 35 years, David served families throughout the Philadelphia and NJ region as a funeral director, division manager, mentor, and former VP of the Givnish Family Funeral Homes.

David is known by many to be an avid Civil War historian, traveler, gardener, and cook. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Family and friends are invited to share in David's Life Celebration on Tuesday, March 27th from 6:00- 9:00 pm. There will be a Life Celebration Remembrance Service at 8:30 PM and Wednesday starting 8:30 AM at the Spencer T. Videon Life Celebration Home at Garrett and Shadeland Roads, Drexel Hill, PA., followed by his Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church , 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA. Internment following at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield.
