David Jeffrey Woodman, 22, of Southwick and Brookline, passed away suddenly on Sunday, (June 29, 2008) at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Born in Mountain View, CA on May 27, 1986, son of Jeffrey Dale and Cathleen Marie (White) Woodman of Southwick, he had been living in Boston for the last four years. David was raised in San Jose, CA and had moved to Southwick with his family eight years ago. After graduating from Southwick High School in 2004, David continued his education at Emmanuel College in Boston, where he was majoring in History and Philosophy. David was a unique person who never worried about what was considered socially correct. He befriended homeless people, gave money to anyone who was in need, and always fought for the “underdog.” His convictions were well beyond his years. Situations involving poverty, injustice, war, and famine domestically and abroad were of utmost importance to him. He was a champion for the less fortunate and was not concerned with the consequences to himself, as long he thought it was the right thing to do. Growing up on the West Coast, David was a San Francisco Giants fan, but after moving to Boston in 2004, he became an avid Red Sox fan. Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Luke and Paul Woodman of Southwick; a sister, Aimee Woodman of Southwick; his maternal grandfather, James White of Fort Wayne, IN; his paternal grandparents, Gil and Mary Woodman of San Jose, CA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. He will also be greatly missed by his friends from the A-Town floor in Brookline.
