David Jonathan Douglas is the first born son of Dr. J Dorenzro Douglas and Cora Reed Douglas. He received his early elementary education via the New Jersey public school system. David committed his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at a very early age, and after completing his Preparatory Studies, was confirmed into the body of Christ via Zion Union American Methodist Church, and thereafter was faithful to Christ and his church. David demonstrated fine qualities of leadership, and many felt that David was going to follow his father in the ministries of the church.

After his father being called and assigned to the Springfield Community Church in 1973, the family migrated from Montclair, New Jersey to New York and David continued his education via the Andrew Jackson High School and graduated in 1976.

He entered into his undergraduate studies at High Point College in North Carolina with Theology as his major. Through David’s journey into the Halls of Higher Education, he became a free-thinker, and informed his father that had changed his major and his father’s response was “Thank God”. In 1980, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science with honors in Psychology. He also received an additional honor of being named in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.

In the summer on 1980, David relocated to Fairfax, Virginia, and before that time was appointed a Walking Deacon. Upon completing his course of preparations, was recommended by the Springfield Community Church to become an “Ordained Deacon”. David began his career with the St. Paul Insurance Companies in Virginia's location as an Inland Marine Underwriter. Allstate Insurance company contacted him in the spring of 1982, and offered a position as an agent. David later went on to own his own Allstate Insurance Company entitled JODA industries. During his time serving as an agent, business owner, and financial planner, David earned numerous awards and accolades, too many to name. However, his greatest accolade was the joy he had serving his clients. David retired from his business in 2012.

David met his wife Pornsri in 2006, and they later married in August 2008. That was one of the happiest days of David’s life, marrying his soul mate. David enjoyed traveling, playing dominoes, flying a plane, painting, sculpting, being a humanitarian, bird watching, nature, and he simply enjoyed life. David was brilliant in his craft, very meticulous, had an eye for details, an immaculate dresser, and one of the smartest people you could ever meet. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Douglas, and father Rev. Dr. John Douglas. David is survived by his wife, Pornsri, 8 siblings-Shucula (Solomon) of Texas, Deborah of Pennsylvania, Nathaniel of Pennsylvania, Sharon of North Carolina, Priscilla (Troy) of Florida, Annastacia of Pennsylvania, Johnisha (Richard) of North Carolina, and Onika (Antione) of North Carolina, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, two aunts, two uncles, a God son- Camron J.
