A humble and loving man is Priceless. A man who listens and speaks softly to his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends is appreciated and loved. Salt of the earth best describes this man. These are the traits of David Lester Alexander III.
David Lester Alexander, age 73 left this world and was called home to meet his Heavenly Father on Monday, May 25, 2015. David was preceded in death by his parents David Lester Alexander II and Emma Bell Griffin Alexander along with two sisters: Betty Faye Stevens and Shirley Jackson. He had many enjoyments and loves that include the High Mountains and gardening.
Mr. Alexander's loving family left to cherish his memories are his wife of 31 years: Nadine Samples Alexander; four daughters: Leslie Alexander of Shelby, NC, Patsy Gray and husband Phil of Blacksburg, SC, Susan Badger and husband Terry of Dallas, NC, Vickie Corley and husband Ty of Clover, SC; four sons: Michael Alexander of Dallas, NC, David Alexander of Georgia, Jerry Alexander of Gastonia, NC, Kevin Alexander and wife Beth of Ellenboro, NC; two step-daughters: Donna Weill and husband Hal of Monroe, NC, Linda Alverson and husband Barry of Mount Holly, NC; two step-sons: Bobby Rappe, Jr. and wife Donna of Mount Holly, NC, Eddie Rappe and wife Kem of Salisbury, NC; Twenty Grandchildren and Nine Great-Grandchilden are empowered to carry on the memory of their Grandfather. Several nieces and nephews.
A life to remember and funeral service will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley, NC with Pastor Kevin Ford to officiate the ceremony. The graveside and committal service will follow at Hillcrest Gardens following the service. Pallbearers will be: Bobby Rappe, Lee Huffman, Eddie Rappe, Hal Weill, A.J. Alverson and Jeremy Gordon.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the funeral home with visiting hours from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
