A graveside service will take place at 10am on Monday, March 20 at the Fairview Cemetery in Denison, TX with Rabbi Howard Wolk officiating.

David Buring was born July 2, 1940 in Memphis TN, the son of Louis and Julia Buring. He graduated from the Texas Western College of the University of Texas in El Paso in 1961 and from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1965. Following graduation he served as a physician aboard the USS Nathanael Greene (SSBN-636), leaving active duty as a Lieutenant Commander. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, soon after which he moved to Denison, TX to join a private practice.

Dr. Buring practiced medicine as a gynecologist in Denison for over twenty years, starting in the early 1970s, where he and his wife Anne Buring raised their family and participated in the professional and civic life of the city. He was a member of the congregation at the Temple Beth Emeth in Sherman, TX, the Rotary Club and was a lifetime supporter of Scouting. During the time he cared for nearly a generation of patients in the Texoma area and enjoyed hobbies including woodworking and private aviation.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anne and is survived by his three sons; Bram Buring and wife Zuzana of Pruhonice, Czech Republic, Joe Buring of Greenville and Ben Buring and wife Shelly of Washington DC. He had four grandchildren Andrew, Annie, Ella and Adam.

David will be remembered for his humor, his tolerance and kindness and for his devotion to the practice of medicine. He owned an orange 1974 Beetle convertible that he would decorate for the holidays with antlers and a shiny red nose. He will be missed by all.
