David "Fat Cat" Vernon Harrelson, age 70, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 24, 2015. "Fat Cat" coached football for the Stanley Optimist Club and High Shoals. He also owned and operated "The Fruit Stand" and "Fat Cat's Restaurant." He was a giving person who didn't like to see others in need; he would often give groceries to people on credit with no expectation of being paid.
