Norfolk - David W. ("Bill") Cutchin died suddenly of cardiac arrest on May 25, 2017, while holding hands with his wife of 60 years, Ruby Cutchin.

Bill was born in Norfolk on March 10, 1930, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War Conflict. He retired from the Norfolk NARF after 30 years, where he worked as a hydraulic mechanic and on aircraft wings, his favorite being the F-14. He worked the remainder of his career as a limousine chauffeur for VIP/ James River Transport.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, John A. Cutchin Sr. and Annie Stewart Cutchin; siblings, John A. Cutchin Jr., Anne Cutchin Filer, and Richard A. Cutchin.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Jo Cutchin; son, David O. Cutchin; daughter-in-law, Lisa Cutchin; sister, Betty Starrette; as well as nieces and nephews, and in-laws.

Bill had a love for motorcycles, especially his "Big Red" Harley, and loved camping, fishing and waterskiing. He insisted on big vacations, and took Ruby places she had never been, making memories including 28 cruises. His family often joked him about having 9+ lives because he fought so hard and overcame so many medical challenges, and chose to live most days going out to breakfast with Ruby to their favorite restaurants with their special waiters.

Bill and his wife enjoyed rescuing and rehabilitating homeless cats who became house kitties, and he loved them all. "Heaven is where you meet all the cats you ever loved:" He is now in heaven with them all on his lap.
