Delfina P. Escamilla, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Bryan Tuesday morning December 5 with her family by her side.
Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Saturday with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10 at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel on Coulter St in Bryan. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Delfina was born on December 29, 1926 in Franklin the daughter of Domingo and Delfina Portales. She was a longtime member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
Delfina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aurelio Escamilla Sr.; sons, Eddie Escamilla, Aurelio Escamilla Jr., Ernesto Escamilla; granddaughters, Stephanie Kyle, Hillary Perez.
She is survived by her children, Linda Escamilla, Margaret Vanecek and husband Peter, Olga Alvarado, JoAnn Lombardo and husband Jack, Selia Ecamilla, Rosemary Calhoun and husband Clayton, Bobby Escamilla, Elizabeth Perez and husband Michael; brothers, Daniel Portales and wife Tila, Ray Portales and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer, Rosemarie, Jeremy, Amanda, Lori, Andre, Lindsey, Andres, Leon, Ernesto Jr., Jaime, Jeffrey, Jessica, RexAnne, Monica, Lonnie Jr., Candice, Blair, Liza, Justin, Valerie, Matthew and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Timmy, Preston, Morgan, Logan, Madilyn, Caden, Trinity, Reid, Luke, Emily, Gaige, Payton, Gavin, Nevaeh, Gerald, Mia, Colby, Tyson, Amora, Elijah, Lila, Adryan, Anthony, Jaycee, Avery, Adriana, Ransom and Kagen; great-grand dog, Molly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and staff of St. Joseph Hospital and Rehab. and Encompass Home Hospice for the love and care they gave our beloved Delfina.
Thank you Ama for leaving us with your love for hummy birds & kitty cats and for guiding us and teaching us that family are built-in-best friends, that forgiveness and unconditional love matters most, the importance of gentleness and kindness, and to always no matter what keep a smile on our faces. And Elvis Presley! Gracias, Ama, te amamos and we will always make you proud!
