Delmer "Corky" James Bobbitt was born October 26, 1935 in Sheridan Wyoming to Clarence Bobbitt and Frances Anderson Bobbitt. He enlisted in the United States Army at nineteen years of age, and served his country faithfully for twenty-five years before retiring in 1979 as a sergeant major. He served in Korea and in Vietnam, for which he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Air Medal. He loved his dear wife Bonnie, his Lord Jesus Christ, and his family, church, and friends. He enjoyed telling jokes and stories and entering sweepstakes contests, even winning a car. He gave to numerous charities as well as his local church. He passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Houston, Texas, preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dwaine Bobbitt. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Bobbitt, his sister Carrol May and her husband Don, sister Joanne Ewalt, brother William Bobbitt and his wife Vivian, daughters Suzan Matulik and Karen Bobbitt, son Manfred Bobbitt, and step-daughter Rita Franco. He also left behind grandchildren Sondra, Sherrie, Charlie, Stacey, Christopher, Wolfgang, and Quinn, numerous great-grandchildren, and many loving friends. He finished his course and kept the faith.
