Life Reflections Delores Braggs Rivers was the eldest of two daughters born to the late Ulysee Braggs and the late Julia Mae Rivers (Jamison) on June 17, 1949. "Ninny Boo", as she was affectionately known to family and friends was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated from the Spencer High School in 1967. Delores worked for many, many years as a Teacher's Assistant at the Morton McMichael Elementary School and was able to embrace retirement after working for over a decade with dementia patients as a Private Duty Nursing Assistant. Delores was the third daughter born to Julia Mae Rivers (Jamison); Joanne, the eldest and toughest; Betty Jean the second and most serious, Delores the third and most fly; Marsha the youngest and sweetest, were four sisters that learned to live, love and laugh together…their life lessons will forever live on in their children, nieces and nephews, Michael, Traci, Sherwood, Sharon, Niru, Rashee and Kimberly. Delores was the proud mother of two daughters, Sharon and Kimberly Rivers and treasured every moment with her grandson, Tyron, who she affectionately called "Boo-Boo", never missed an opportunity to talk about the straight "A's" he received for his perfect attendance from the first grade to his present grade, he truly was the light of her life. All the Rivers girls could cook, after all they had Aunt Bing and Julia Mae as their teachers and everyone down the bottom was aware of Aunt Bing's Fish Fries, and there wasn't a dish that Julia Mae couldn't cook. There were many debates over who was the best cook among them…on this day we can finally end the great family debate over who made the best greens or fried the juiciest chicken, because they all did, because these sisters learned from the best. Delores met her soul mate, Robert McDaniels in 1985 and they remained together until she was called home by Our Lord and Savior. Delores will be especially missed by her partner in crime Marsha, because they were the youngest. They were blessed to spend a lot more time together and continued to look out for each other until Delores' final days. Delores was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Jean Benns (Rivers), Eleanor Foster (Braggs), Yvonne Blackmon (Braggs) and brother, Daniel "Skippy Braggs". Delores leaves her memory to be cherished by: two daughters, Sharon and Kimberly Rivers; one grandson, Tyron Rivers; her life mate and "dance partner" Robert McDaniels; one son-in-law, Kenya Mobley; three sisters, Joanne Berry (Rivers), Marsha McDonald (Rivers) and Eva Braggs; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Mae Braggs; one brother-in-law, Henry Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
