Denis J. Amisano Sr., age 62 of Watkins Glen, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 1st, 2015.

Denis was born in Flushing, New York on May 21st, 1953, the son of Guido and Margaret (Pellecchia) Amisano. Prior to his retirement in 2001, Denis was the Vice President of Elmira Pepsi Bottling Co., President and founder of Full Service Vending, and President of Quarter Mile Creek LLC, with which he scripted a film, entitled "The Appeal". Denis had also consulted and mentored many from his home. He was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen, where he started the Divine Mercy Novena with Father Austin, served on the church board and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Watkins Glen Fire Dept. for over 30 years, where he had been an EMT and served on their Fire Dept. Board. Denis was also a member of the BPOE, Watkins Glen Elk's Lodge #1546. Denis was Godfather to many, and a father figure to many friends, who referred to him lovingly as "Papa" or "Mr. A.". He loved watching the NY Giants with his son and friends. Denis was a pillar in the community and for his family. A true friend to all, having many loyal friends, he was caring and noted as the epitome of generosity, always offering words of wisdom and advice.

Denis is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Christina (Kelley) Amisano; his children, Denis J. 'DJ' Amisano Jr and his wife, Emily, Michelle Fuksman and her husband, Paul and Margaret Mary Amisano, and Teresa Yandow and her husband, Justin; grandchildren, Christianna Elizabeth and Isaac Denis Fuksman and Jameson and Zyler Yandow; his mother, Margaret Amisano; siblings, Mary Anne Poland and her husband Walter, Guy Amisano and his wife, Mary, Elizabeth Welch and her husband, George, and Adele Lanahan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Denis was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth M. Amisano, father, Guido; sister, Agnes Donovan; and brother in law, Bryan Lanahan.

Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, September 4th at the Haughey-Wood Funeral Home, 119 5th St., Watkins Glen. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, September 5th at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
