Deolinda Rosa DaSilva passed away after an illness surrounded by devoted family and friends. Deolinda was born in the small Portuguese village of Chamoim in the municipality of Terras de Bouro, Portugal on August 11, 1933. She was 83 years old. Deolinda was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Maria Augusta Esteves and had four brothers , Manuel who lives in Terras de Bouro, Antonio who lives in Coimbra , Portugal, Joaquim who lives in Germany and Tino (deceased) and a sister Aurora Correia living in Lisbon, many in laws including her sister in law Maria Cerqueira who was a source of strength and support. Deolinda was married to her husband Antonio DaSilva for 60 years. Theirs was a true story of love and a lifelong devotion to each other, having grown up together in the same village before moving to Lisbon where Antonio worked as a chef in many of the country's larger hotels. In the mid-70's, they moved to the United States to begin a new life with their young family and establish the first Portuguese restaurant in the area, the Sagres, in their adopted city of Fall River. While Antonio worked the long hours required to grow his business, Deolinda raised her family while working alongside her husband.

Deolinda adored her family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the matriarch of her family which made her all the more special. She was loved and appreciated for her great generosity towards family, friends, and especially those in need. Her wonderful sense of humor and full laugh was contagious to all those who were ever near her. Her fierce love for her favorite soccer club, Team Porto, will always be remembered to those who knew her. Deolinda and Antonio returned every year to their home in Portugal to visit family and friends and also to stay connected with their culture and roots. However, her loving and gentle desire to be close to her children and grandchildren always pulled her back to her adopted home in Fall River. This is just one of the many examples that displayed her true unconditional love for her family and loved ones.

Deolinda's beauty and love will always be remembered by those closest to her, her Husband, her daughter Natalia Silva Patterson and husband Garth Patterson, her sons Victor DaSilva and his wife Michelle, Manuel Ferreira and his wife Aldavina, along with her grandchildren Eric, Shaun, Keith and Caitlin Ferreira, Taylor and Aiden DaSilva, Michaela, Liam and Rebekah Patterson , her nephew Paulo Correia who lived with the family many years while studying in the United States, her great-grandchildren Khalen and Lyla Ferreira as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
