Dixie Poole Keyes, 82, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 23, 2012. Born in Jackson, Mississippi on April 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lewis C and the late Vivian Poole. Mrs. Keyes was a graduate of Charity Nursing School in New Orleans, LA, receiving her B.S. and M.S. in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Mrs. Keyes taught nursing at Hinds Community College, eventually becoming freshman coordinator until her retirement.

She was a dedicated member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church as well as Providence Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Keyes was preceded in death by her son, Mark David Keyes; brother, Lewis Coke Poole.

She is survived by her husband, David E. Keyes of Clinton, MS, as well as her children, Nick (PJ Bounds) Christu of Denver, CO; Paul (Molly) Christu of Providence, RI; William Andrew "Andy" (Debra) Keyes of Ione, CA, and James Byron Keyes (Amy) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Rachael and Brian Christu, Megan Keyes and Whitney Eiden, Natalie Mae Brandt of Denali, AK, Noel William Brandt (Christan) of Mercer, WI. She is also survived by her brother, Charles W. (Marie) McMaster and his family of Terry, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 26th, 2012 at Providence Presbyterian Church, Clinton MS with burial in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery, Clinton, MS. The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday July 25th, 2012 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home of Clinton and after 10:00 am Thursday at the church.
