Domingo Hernandez, 83, a long-time resident of Johnson City, TX, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Marble Falls, TX.

Domingo was born February 25, 1934 in Marble Falls, TX. He grew up helping his family make a living as migrant workers traveling from state to state during planting seasons. Domingo moved to Friona in the early 60's where he worked on a farm. He remained in Friona for 10 years and decided to return back to the Hill Country of Texas. Domingo made Johnson City home and remained there for the remainder of his life. He worked as a carpenter until he retired. On weekends, Domingo continued the family tradition shearing sheep and goats shearing up to 180 goats in one day.

Domingo had a love for outdoors. Every spring he would till the dirt getting it ready to plant his garden with a variety of fruits and vegetables. In the evenings you could see him in his yard watering plants and tending to his animals. Domingo had a craft for making things out of wood. He would build planters, benches and his cane that he used in the later part of his life.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Manuel and Viviana Hernandez, Wife Norberta Hernandez, brothers, Paz Hernandez, Ben Hernandez, Luis Gonzalez, Francisco Gonzalez, Marcus Gonzalez, Emilio Gonzalez sisters Elvida Gonzalez, Coy Martinez and step-daughter Lucia Martinez.

Domingo is survived by his sisters Nancy Guerrero and Feliciana Beltran, children, Sylvia Raymond , Henry Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Gary Hernandez, Ricky Hernandez, Sonny Hernandez, John Hernandez and step-children, Rutillo Flores, Enrique Flores, Francisco Flores, Maria Leticia Mendez, and Pablo Flores. He is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held November 20, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM November 21, 2017 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Marble Falls
