Don D. Murray (1925-2013)

CEDAR FALLS- Don D. Murray, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born November 18, 1925 in Iowa City, the son of Joseph R. and Anna R. McCreary Murray. He married Elizabeth "Betty" M. Duhn on March 9, 1946 in Grundy Center. She died February 19, 2009.

Mr. Murray was employed in experimental testing with John Deere in both Waterloo and Laredo, TX. He served as usher at First Baptist Church and as a Scout Leader with Boy Scouts of America.

Survived by: a son, Virgil (Nel) Murray of Bellevue; two daughters, Donna Murray of Waterloo and Beckie (Jeff) Murray of Nashua; five grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Crow of Cedar Rapids.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at NewAldaya Lifescapes chapel with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation for one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to House of Hope or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
