DATELINE NINETY SIX DONALD GIBERT Donald Gene Gibert, 76, resident of 301 Eddy Road, widower of Alpha Agner Gibert, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Tignall, GA, July 3, 1935, he was a son of the late Henry Pierce, Sr. and Marie Satterfield Gibert. A US Army Veteran, Mr. Gibert was retired after fifty-one years of service from Greenwood Mills where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. A member of Ninety Six Church of God, he was a member of the Discipleship Sunday Sunday School Class and had formerly taught the Young Married Men's Sunday School Class for many years. He had served in many other various positions of the church. Mr. Gibert was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Pierce Gibert, Jr. Survivors include sisters, Judy Williamson and husband, Frank of Ninety Six, Georgetta Robinson of Clinton and Patsy Byrd and husband, Marion of Winnsboro; brothers, Irwin Gibert and wife, Mary and Terry Gibert and wife, Carolyn, all of Ninety Six; brothers-in-law, Bobby Agner and wife, Jeanette and Wayne Agner, all of Ninety Six; special cousin, Henry Good and wife, Shelby of Athens, GA; very special Army buddy, Harold Nave and wife, Farris of Elizabethton, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 AM at Ninety Six Church of God with Reverend Ronald Chavis and Reverend Roy Burroughs officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary escort will be members of the Discipleship Sunday School Class at Ninety Six Church of God. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until the service hour in the church social hall and at other times at their respective homes. Those desiring may make memorials to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646. Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the Gibert family.
