Donald "Dean" Houser
Williamston, Michigan

A longtime resident of Williamston, Dean passed away peacefully Sunday morning, April 30, 2017 at the age of 86.
Dean was born December 13, 1930 in Mexico, Indiana, the son of the late Dorsey and Iva Houser.

Dean was a teacher for over 20 years at Williamston Middle School, where he touched many lives even long after his retirement. He was the official starter for the Williamston track, a faithful member of the Webberville United Methodist Church, Webberville Kiwana's, and many other organizations.

Dean was a detailed organizer and tirelessly volunteered for the Crop walks and Habitat for Humanity. He was a dedicated teacher, tutor, mentor, friend and devoted family member.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, and his second wife, Virginia "Ann" (Mead) Houser (March 2017). Surviving to cherish memories are his first wife Beverly Houser-Trower, his children Terrie (Rick) Greathouse, Steve (Ginny) Houser, Michael (Linda) Houser, Russ (Tessie) Houser, his step-children Jan (Chuck) McGowen (Mead), Jim (Michelle) Mead, and David Mead, seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday May 5, 2017 at 11am at Webberville United Methodist Church; Holt Road and M-52. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8pm at the church, and again one hour prior to the service Friday. Interment will directly follow the service at Summit Cemetery.
