Donald Howard Miller, 82, of Exeter Twp., passed away at home on Sunday, January 15, 2017. He was the loving husband of Jennie A. (Ulrich) Miller. The couple married on August 25, 1956 and shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Reading on August 11, 1934, he was a son of the late Chester and Mary (Englebach) Miller.

He was drafted into the Army and served in Germany and worked on trucks.

Donald was first employed with Tom Masano as a mechanic. Later, he was employed with Baldwin Brass as a polisher. He retired from Interstate Container after 35 years as a maintenance mechanic.

He liked to tinker with things and took pleasure in taking things apart to see how they worked. This led him to become a collector of sorts. The family shared that he practically knew how to fix anything. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Jennie; Donald is survived by five children: Randall H. Miller and his wife, Lois, of Shillington, Darrall L. Miller and his wife, Lori, of Exeter Twp., Wendall D. Miller of Lower Alsace Twp., Crystall J. (Miller) Smith and her husband, Paul, of Birdsboro and Marshall A. Miller of Kenhorst; four grandchildren: Stephanie Walters, Ashley Smith, Jonathan Smith and Brittney Miller; a great- granddaughter: Aarilyn Walters and one on the way; a brother, Vernon Miller and his wife, Christine and two sisters, Laverne (Miller) Shryock and Alice (Miller) Bryan.

Donald is predeceased by five siblings: Garson Miller, Chester Miller, Laura Miller, Carol (Miller) Long and Barbara (Miller) Rollman.

Services will be on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
