Donald John Cluen, 79, of Stuarts Draft passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 3, 2016.
Born June 26, 1937 in Queens, NY to the late Eugene and Sarah (Doty) Cluen, Donald was raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Donald was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft and, formerly, First Presbyterian Church in Mahopac, NY and provided his generous service to food pantries and congregational activities. While raising his family in Mahopac, he owned and operated Quality Injection Molds, Inc. in New Milford, CT for 30 years and was well-respected by his employees as an honest, sincere and hard-working manager. To his friends, children and grandchildren, Donald was admired for his unending sense of humor, fun loving personality and compassionate demeanor. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, traveling and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Adrienne (Mills) Cluen and two brothers, Eugene and Lawrence Cluen.
Donald leaves behind his loving companion and caregiver, Magda Bornholz; his children, Karen McLaughlin and husband, Robert of Ephrata, PA, Janice Cluen of Yonkers, NY, Joyce McKeown of Carmel, NY and Krystle Cluen of Washington, D.C.; his grandchildren, Ryan McKeown, Robert McLaughlin, Jr. and Kelly McKeown; and his brother, Thomas Cluen.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Calvary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Reynolds and the Rev. Nancy Vaughan officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft.
