Dora C. Duran received her angel wings on Friday, August 11, 2017, surrounded by her loving family in Woodland.

Dora was born on November 13, 1927 in San Francisco to Miguel and Alexandra Romero. In 1942, while attending the movies with friends she saw a young man and told them, "I'm going to marry that man." On May 1, 1949, Rudolph "Rudy" and Dora were married. Together, they raised three children, Daniel, Gloria, and David. Dora was an adoring wife and mother.

As a family, they loved road trips, especially to Disneyland and Pinecrest Camp.

In 1976, Dora was promoted to her prized title of Nana. The love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren was endless.

Dora had a passion for her family, reading, cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, crocheting, and her faith in God.

Dora is survived by her son, Daniel Duran (Delores Duran); daughter, Gloria McMaster (Barry McMaster); and son, David Duran (Chris Duran). Grandchildren, Kendra Martin (Stephen Martin); Erick St. John (Kristi St. John); David Duran; and Jim Upton (Michelle Upton); 10 great grandchildren; brother Joe Romero; and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom she adored.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Rudolph Duran; brothers, Philip and Henry Torres; sister, Angie Trujillo; and grandson, Jason Upton.

Funeral services will begin with a Rosary on Thursday, August 17, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 First Street, and Memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 500 Fairview Drive, Brentwood, on Friday, at 10am. Following Mass, Dora will be laid to rest at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Antioch.
