Mrs. Doris Jean Goodlett entered her eternal Home at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX on Sunday, September 24th 2017. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, TX. Graveside service will be held at Broken Bow Cemetery on Wednesday, September 27th at 10:00 AM. Family visitation will be one hour before both services.

Doris Jean was born to Homer and Minnie Echols in Broken Bow OK, on October 30th 1928. She married Edwin Goodlett in their pastor's home in Idabel, OK on November 24th 1956. Doris Jean spent her life generously serving others as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Doris Jean was always happy to set an extra place or places at the table for anyone who wanted to share an extraordinary meal and a lighthearted visit with her family. Doris was always proud of her husband's military accomplishments as he served from Perrin Air Force Base.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edwin Goodlett, her parents and all of her siblings and their spouses, Bill and wife, Reba Echols of New Mexico; Homer "Bud" and wife, Mary Echols of Nashville Arkansas, Ben and wife, Edith Echols; Millard "Doc" Echols and wife, Pearl; Nellie and husband, Richard Chappell; Mattie Faye and husband, J.E. Johnson, Jim Echols, and a deceased baby brother, Mack, all of whom were from Broken Bow; one infant grandchild, Darin William Hearn.

Doris Jean is survived by her daughters and their families, Jeanie and husband Ralph Bray; Jayna and husband, James Hearn. Grandchildren: Hope Bray, Michael Bray and wife Nichole, and Lyndon and Aiden Hearn; two great grandsons, Ruger and Ryatt Bray. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who lovingly called her, "Aunt Doris Jean." She also leaves to treasure her memory her long-time special friend and Sister in Christ, Patty LaGrone.
