Doris Morton, age 70, of Calcutta Smithsferry Road, died on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the East Liverpool City Hospital after a two year illness.

Born in Woodsfield, Ohio on March 10, 1939 she lived her entire life in this area as a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.

Doris was a member and officer of the Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for 30 Years, a member of TOPS #1430 and an avid garage saler.

In 1994 she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Morton, who sh married in 1956.

She is survived by one son, Harold R. Morton Jr. three daughters, Vicki Morton, Shirley Hill and her husband, Mark, all of Calcutta and Patti Ebert of New Cumberland, W.Va. Two brothers, Charles Joy of Wellsville and Sam Joy of Glenmoor and one sister Beryl Owens of LaCroft. Three grandchildren, Erin Hill, Emily Hill, and Dalton Ebert.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Hildred Joy, and a daughter, Peggy Morton.

Family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes. Private services and burial will take place at a later date.
