Doris Welborn was born January 13, 1920 in Edinburg, MS. She was the daughter of Walter E. Sharpe and Effie Jolly Sharpe. All of her siblings preceded her in death. She had a twin brother, Thomas Horace Sharpe. Her other siblings were: Irma Montgomery, Earl Sharpe, Grace Winston, Bill Sharpe, Eloise Axtell, Sue Blue, Martha Cook, Mary Young, Pete Sharpe.



Doris was happily married to J.B. Welborn for 53 years. J.B. passed away in 1999.



She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands – Gail Head and her husband Charles of Kemah, TX, and Deborah Cryder and her husband Dennis of Zionsville, IN.



Five grandchildren and their spouses – Christy Lovoi and her husband John, Scott Head and his wife Carrie, Sterling Cryder and his wife Liza, Spencer Cryder and his wife Steph, Stuart and his fiance Jenna.



Five great grandchildren – Jordan Lovoi, Ella Lee Cryder, Spencer Cryder, Ruby Cryder and Henry Cryder.



She lived in Mississippi the majority of her life and in Texas close to family for the last 12 years of her life.



Doris was a Charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and an Eastern Star for over 67 years. She graduated from Madison High School, Madison, MS.



Throughout her life she was always active, engaging others and participating. "If you don’t use it - you lose it" was one of her favorite expressions.



She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Saturday, October 7, 2017. We will miss her spirit but we know it will live on in all of us.
