Dorothy Frances Riley Dougherty of Grapevine, Texas was born in McAdoo, Texas on January 8, 1927 and went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2018 at the age of 91 years and 10 days. She was a dedicated, loving wife and mother who adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved growing plants and arranging flowers, and achieved certification as a National Flower Show Judge. Dorothy served her Lord and her church her entire life. As a teenager, she learned to play the piano so she could help the church by playing for worship services. She was an Elder, Sunday School teacher and an officer in the Synodical Cumberland Presbyterian Women. She was a charter member of Saint Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she championed the MDO Program. Thirty-five years later this program has grown to currently serve over 160 students and is known as the St Timothy Preschool. She has supported many mission programs and was always looking for ways to advance the Lord's work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Washington Riley and Bessie Lee Creswell Riley; her husband, Duane A. Dougherty, Sr; her sister, Marie Stratton; her brother William Riley and wife Ann. She is survived by her son Rev. Duane A. Dougherty, Jr. and wife Suzanne; daughter Beth Pearson and husband Ronnie; granddaughters: Amy Haga and husband Brad, Christen Lain and husband Randall, Mary Pitner, Leigh Ann Coventry and husband Aaron and Kathleen McClung and husband Carter. Her great grandchildren include Victoria Lain, Tiffany Lain, Katelyn Lain, Gabby Haga, Maddie Haga, Rosetta Pitner, Penelope McClung, Layton McClung, Benjamin Coventry and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26 from 6-8 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, TX 76034. The funeral will be held at Saint Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3001 Forest Ridge, Bedford, TX at 10 am on Saturday, January 27. Interment will immediately follow at the Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church building fund.
