Dorothy Jean Lloyd (75) was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on April 21, 1942. With her family by her side, she passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on September 19, 2017 at her home in Seagoville.



She is preceded in death by her father William Thomas Gray; mother Minnie LouRuth Parker; husband Kenneth Wayne Lloyd; sisters Charlotte Anne Vigil & Barbara Zeadell Wallace; brother Julian Hilary Willingham and son William Thomas Garrett.



Those left with cherished memories are her children Debra Louise Casali, Jimmy Donald Garrett and Karen Savannah Burgdorf; grandchildren Stephanie Clark, Kimberly Casali, Jessica Casali, Richard Garrett, Thomas Garrett and Jessica Garrett; great grandchildren George Garrett, Francis Garrett, Lena Walters, Gavin Edwards, Allen Watson, Marshall Watson and Nathaniel Clark; Siblings Betty Light, David Willingham and Judy Shipley; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family loved ones and beloved friends.



Dorothy loved life. As a young adult raising 3 children she still managed to travel and visited many places including Japan and Hawaii. In 1979 she moved to Seagoville, Texas where she met Kenneth Lloyd. The two were married earlier the following year. Together, they continued raising their family, including a couple of their grandchildren. Dorothy remained active and on the go. She could be seen driving her Camaro around town.



Dorothy loved the Lord. She attended “New Life Fellowship” church. She taught Sunday school class for over 10 years and even joined the Youth Group on a road trip to Arkansas.



A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M Friday September 22, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Seagoville were Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her loving husband Kenneth, in the Garden of Valley View.
