Dorothy Jeanette Miller Arbogast, 88, of Broadway passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on September 10, 2017.

She was born on June 18, 1929 in Quicksburg, VA, and was the daughter of the late William H. Miller, Sr. and Julia Arlene Zirkle Miller.

Dorothy graduated from New Market High School in 1947, where she became passionate about business. She held various different jobs as a bookkeeper, and then went on to work for the Navy in Washington, D.C. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time on her farm. She was a member of St. Martin Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Market.
She will be remembered for her remarkable inner strength and her ability to always live life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cam Arbogast on May 1, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gaylon Miller.

She is survived by four sons, Terry Miller and wife, Angela, of New Market, Tom Arbogast and wife, Lisa, of Lancaster, PA, Steve Arbogast and wife, Bobbie, Bart Arbogast and wife, Kim all of Broadway; one sister, Goldyene Harris of Front Royal; one brother, Dudley Miller and wife, Pam; seven grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Brandy Young, Jeremy, Bethany, Galen, Colton and Callie Arbogast; four great-grandchildren, Zoe and Ryleigh Miller, Coale Young and Ashton Arbogast; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 15, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers for the kindness and warm hearted care given to our mom during her brief illness at home.
