Dorothy M. (Rioux) Guiel, 80, of Suffield, passed away peacefully on Friday June 30, 2006 surrounded by her loving family at Baystate Medical Center. Born on May 7, 1926 in Holyoke, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Irving and Helen (Stefancik) Rioux. She resided in Holyoke and West Springfield most of her life, then lived with family in Suffield for the past 10 years. She enjoyed music, traveling and working for 17 years at New England Dermatology in Springfield where she made many close friends before retiring in 2003. She was a member of Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam, Mass. Besides her husband of 50 years, Raymond Guiel, she leaves two daughters, Donna Bielonko and her husband Benjamin of Suffield, and Laurie Bielonko of Chicopee, Mass.; two brothers, Dan Rioux of Tenn., and the late Thomas Rioux and his wife Carol of South Hadley, Mass.; a sister, Joan Hurteau and her husband Gerry of East Hampton, Mass.; four grandchildren, Jamie, Ben, Katie and David Bielonko; her aunt, Margaret Nadeau; uncle, Robert Stefancik; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother, who embraced her family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength and compassion and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 6, 2006 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159) Suffield. A calling hour will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield.
