Dorothy Marie Rasco Edwards, 83, of Midland died Monday, November 20, 2017 at home.
She was born on August 21, 1934 in Ranger, Texas to the late Jim and Sue Adams. She and the love of her life (Shelby) ran Midland Auto Paint for many years. After selling that business they started Auto Color & Supply Warehouse.
She enjoyed working in all facets of the business and, most of all, working beside her best friend every day. After retiring she helped her daughter and son-in-law in their business, Western Livestock Auction. She loved to sew and visit the shut ins and be a pink lady volunteer. Her love for her family was big and she looked forward to every Friday night when she would have her grandkids come spend the night and make lots of memories.
Dorothy's battle with Alzheimer's started 12 years ago and she fought hard. We are sad that she is not here with us but know this is not good bye. We will see her again and rejoice in the fact that her battle with Alzheimer's is over and she now has a clear mind and rests in the arms of the Lord.
The family would like to thank her caregivers. These ladies loved her as their own mother and supported her for the last eight years. They are truly the very best. Thank you Suzette, Jessica, Alice, Kathy and Anita with Comfort Keepers and Paula, Kelly, Donna Paul and Teri with Hospice of Midland.
She is preceded in death by her husband Shelby Edwards; her parents Jim and Sue Adams and her sister Mary Lou Bates.
She is survived by her son, Gary Edwards and wife Lisa of Palestine, Texas' daughter, Cindy Wilson and husband Sid of Midland, Texas grandchildren Clint Edwards of Lubbock, Texas, Amy Revia and husband Jay of Beaumont, Texas, Mendy Standridge and husband Steven of Midland, Texas, Lee Anne Meyers and husband Cody of Bremond, Texas and Lindsay Stanley of Palestine, Texas; great granddaughters Shelbie Standridge and Kennedy Standridge of Midland, Kylie Rose, Lacey Cate and Cannon Meyers of Bremond and great grandsons, Dawson, Sutton, Ramsie and Beckham Stanley of Palestine.
Memorials in honor of Dorothy may be directed to Hospice of Midland at P.O. Box 2621, Midland, Texas 79702 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Mission Square 440 N. Big Spring #C32, Midland, Texas 79705.
