A loving father, husband, son, and friend, Douglas "Wade" Chandler, age 48, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in his Deer Park, Texas home, surrounded by his family. Wade was born on September 29, 1969 in Texas City, Texas. He was married to Marla Davis on July 8, 1995 at Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene in Pasadena, Texas.

Wade is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Turner and Christine Chandler and Roland and Rowena LeBoeuf. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marla, son Dakota and his wife Blair, son Dillon, daughter Sarah, and bonus son, Robert Martinez; father, Douglas Chandler of Devine, Texas; mother Linda Grisham and husband Bobby of Houston, Texas; brother Darren Chandler and wife Tracie of Seabrook, Texas; and a large extended family and many dear friends.

Wade loved being a dad to Dakota, Dillon, and Sarah, and he was the best. He was also a loving husband to Marla for over 22 years. Together, they were the ultimate team. Wade attended La Porte High School and Sam Houston State University. For over 15 years, Wade coached his own children and the youth of Deer Park in Tiger Football and City Basketball, where he was able to impact many young lives. Every year, he enjoyed organizing and playing fantasy football, which he often won. Wade also liked to travel with his family, especially to various beaches in Florida, Alabama, California, and the Caribbean.

Wade was a member of Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene in Pasadena, Texas, where he and Marla taught adult Sunday School. He worked at Johnson Controls in Houston, Texas, where he was known as a friend to all. He was able to witness to many people through his courageous battle with cancer over the past three years by constantly showing faith over fear. Wade will forever be remembered in our hearts as a non-judgmental, honest friend who listened intently to others and truly loved unconditionally.
