Westminster- Duane Edward Miller, 58, of US Route 5 in Westminster died unexpectedly Monday, March 4, 2013 in Williamsburg, Mass, the result of an accidental fall while on a jobsite. A resident of the area since the age of five, Duane was born in Bessemer Township, MI on April 22, 1954 the son of Duane Edsel and Joann (Rose) Miller. He had attended New England Kurn Hattin Homes and was a graduate of Bellows Falls Union High School, Class of 1974. He went on to attend Keene State College. For the past several years, he was a self-employed commercial painter and owner of Team Paint based in Westminster. Previously he had worked at Kurn Hattin Homes for 18 years as a house parent. Duane loved the outdoors and helping the area youth, serving as a mentor. A large percentage of his workforce included young single adults from the greater Bellows Falls and Brattleboro area. In conjunction with his painting business he also was an arborist. He was married to Lori J. Bell on August 23, 1985 at Community Bible Chapel in Brattleboro. Survivors include two sons, Samuel Miller of Marlborough, N.H. and Matthew Miller of West Dummerston, one brother, Donald Miller of Sumter, S.C., three sisters, Virginia Parry of Englewood, FL, Lynn Hume of Lempster, N.H. and Kathleen Nightingale of Winchester, N.H. Additionally, he leaves many nieces and nephews. A memorial service in celebration of Duane's life will be conducted Saturday, March 23rd at 10:00 A.M. at Grace Community Evangelical Free Church in Spofford, NH, with Pastor Lew Miller, officiating. A reception will follow the services to be held in the church's fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Duane's name may be made to New England Kurn Hattin Homes, P.O.
