Duane Jaggers, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 9, 1931 to Percy Jaggers and Ione Washington Jaggers. He attended Pontotoc City Schools, where he played football. He worked at Cutters Exchange, Denton Mills, Leggett & Platt, Kingsdown, Vita Foam, Best Foam, Tupelo Mfg. Co., and owned his own companies, Jaglan Garment Company, in Sledge, MS and Bruce, MS, where he created "Live In" jeans. Through his jobs he lived in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Tennessee and Texas, but Black Zion and Mississippi was always home. Duane loved God and his family and his employees spoke highly of him, and he had an enduring charisma that drew people to him.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening and keeping his lawn. He loved the outdoors and the Great Smoky Mountains. He will be missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Rev. Danny Prater officiating; burial will follow in the Black Zion Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Kathy Jaggers of the Black Zion Community; his daughter, Julia Roberts and husband Matthew "Murf" Roberts; two grandsons, Kaleb Jumper and James Roberts, all of Tupelo, MS two sisters-in-law: Betty Jo Jaggers of Tupelo, MS and Virginia Jaggers of Pontotoc, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons; Dane Jaggers and an infant son, Paul Jaggers; two brothers, Morris Jaggers and Eugene "Tennie" Jaggers and a sister, Pauline Prater.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Jaggers, Barry Jaggers, Scott Jaggers, Ben Bramlett, Lester Roberts and Johnny Ray. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew "Murf" Roberts, Kaleb Jumper and James Roberts.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday and from 9 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
