Ean Jacob Seals, 31, of Washington, Indiana passed away suddenly on August 19, 2017. Ean grew up in Albion and Ellery, Illinois with a love of learning and God's creation.

He began reading everything in sight in second grade and never quit. In school, he loved scholastic bowl and being challenged in every way. His dry humor and quick wit were his trademarks, and his devotion to all things right was beyond compare. He did not compromise on his principles. Ean received a presidential scholarship to SIUC then continued his education with an awarded fellowship to earn his master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Carbondale. He was currently working towards a second master's degree in BioMetrics at Purdue University. He chose to serve our nation as an Engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division in Crane, Indiana.

Ean had a passion for growing things and learning. He found happiness with his wife, Lindsay, and by planting things on their few acres south of Washington. He loved complicated board games and WWII history.

Ean is survived by the love of his life, Lindsay; his parents, Matt and Beth Seals of Ellery; his sister, Emily and Greg Perkins of Indianapolis, Indiana; Lindsay's parents, Sheila and Jerry Thornhill and John and Sharon Mondino of Mulkeytown, Illinois; his grandfather, Gene Seals of Bone Gap, Illinois; her grandparents, Ernie and Charlotte Sparks; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his two devoted dogs, Oberon and Sylvie. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Delmar and Ina Lee Sample; and his paternal grandmother, Sue Ellen Seals.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. CST at Little Prairie Christian Church. Funeral will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1 p.m. CST at the church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery near Ellery.
