Earl E. Pruitt, 36, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. He was born October 13, 1980, in Ft. Wayne, to Barry C. Pruitt and Sharon K. Perlini. Earl graduated from Homestead High School in May, 1999, having lettered in varsity football, and subsequently graduated from Indiana University's Bloomington campus in 2004 having majored in Secondary Health Education. Earl was known for his warm smile, contagious laugh, and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. Earl realized his purpose in this life on June 20, 2011, when he married his Boo, Ashley Pruitt, who was his faithful and loving best friend, providing him with more comfort and joy than anyone could hope for in a lifetime. Earl was an avid sports fan who frequented sporting events with his friends, many of whom he'd known and remained close with since grade school, despite the normal distances imposed on such longtime friendships by life. Earl's presence on this Earth will never be replaced, but the joy of his memories will bring comfort to those who knew and loved him for many years to come. Earl is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, Ashley; his parents, Barry (Karen) Pruitt and Sharon Perlini; his sisters, Trisha (Michael) Benefield, Liberty (Jason) Hire, Abby Ryan, Molly (Jeff) Heiniger, and Lisa (Greg) Perlini; his grandparents, Ann Pruitt and Pat Hoffman; Ashley's parents, Brad and Judy Coy; Ashley's siblings, Zak (Brooke) Price; Annie (Braidon) Ferrier; Emily (Jon) Park, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by step-father, David Perlini; and grandparents, Earl E. Pruitt, Robert Hardesty, and Richard Hoffman. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 3-8 pm on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the funeral home. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
