Earl S. Wilson
Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Father-in-law passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 after a long illness.
He was born in Kerens, Texas and raised in Corsicana with his many brothers and sisters. He grew up picking cotton and playing music. Music became his passion and he began playing professionally, playing in house bands and honky-tonks. He had the opportunity to play back up for artists such as Glen Campbell, Ray Price and Willie Nelson. While working in a hitching post in New Mexico he met and fell in love with a waitress who had three small children. He took her fishing on their first date and the rest was history. They married and had three additional children together. They moved around a few times before settling here in Bakersfield to raise their family. He continued playing music for several years and then stopped to work in the oilfields as a Welder. Eventually, he owned his own business. In time he left the oilfields to work as a Bus Driver/ Custodian for the Shafter/Richmond School District; where he retired from.
In addition to his passion for music, he also loved fishing, hunting, guns, warbirds and drag racing. He was a Jack of all Trades and there was virtually no problem he couldn't fix.He was very loved and will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Sandra. He is survived by his children, Jaime and Renee Flores, Werner and Pam Jung III, Earlene and Rudy Garcia, Debbie Rogers, Kenneth and Dorothy McKenzie; brothers, Melvin, Albert, Raymond, Frank and Willy; sisters Rosie, Sadie and Leona; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Arrangements under the direction of Mish Funeral Home, Bakersfield, CA.
