POLKINGHORNE, Edith Luella-Belle (Livingston) – of Flint, age 94, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012. She was born January 24, 1918 in Leamington, Ontario, Canada to the late Robert and Mabel (Getty) Livingston. She was a baker in Detroit before marrying Stephen Polkinghorne on August 15, 1941. She was a secretary and resident real estate agent as well as a homemaker for her family. She most enjoyed boating, fishing, scuba diving, traveling and teaching all of her children and grandchildren to swim and love the water.

She is survived by: her sons, Mr. Stephen R. and wife Beverly Polkinghorne of Willow Springs, NC, Mr. David "Larry" and wife Linda Polkinghorne of Prescott, MI, Mr. Daniel L. and wife Mary "Cathy" Polkinghorne of Mt. Morris, MI; daughter in law, Mrs. Delma and husband Barry Butterfield of Fenton, MI; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by: husband, Stephen Polkinghorne; brother, William Livingston; sister, Mabel Bilbrey; grandsons, Scott and Ryan Polkinghorne. Special thanks to the loving care giving of Ms. Julia Champion of NC where Edith spent her last several years.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Friday, March 30, 2012 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home, 503 N. Mill St., Clio, MI. Rev. Jeanne Gennaw officiating. Burial will take place on Saturday at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, MI. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8PM and on Friday from 12Noon until time of services at 3 PM.
