Edmond Lee Melton a resident of Kerman passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the age of 74. He was born on October 3, 1939 in Monroe, LA to the late Annie Lee and James C. Melton, Sr. and came to California as a young boy. Lee attended school in Fresno and Sonora, CA and served honorably in the US Navy aboard the USS Gurke. He worked on many construction projects as a member of the Operating Engineers for 32 years. He won awards for his leather carving, both locally and nationally and was Volunteer of the years for his many hours of service at the VA Community Living Center in Fresno. Lee a member of the Clovis Elks for 41 years and a lifetime member of both the VFW Post 8899 and The American Legion Post 0159. He is survived by his son Kevin Lee Melton and his wife Gail, daughter Paula Cobb and her husband John, granddaughter Amanda Adams and her husband Nathan, many nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Friday, May 16, 2014 from noon until 7:00 pm. Celebration of Life at Lisle Funeral Home on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
