Edna Settle Green, age 92, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away in the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community, on Sunday, February 19, 2017.
Mrs. Green was born to Minnie A. and Callie Fincham Settle in Culpeper, Virginia, on June 10, 1924.

Mrs. Green grew up on the family farm and was a pitcher for her softball team in high school. As an adult, she worked in Washington, DC, for the Federal Government. Eventually she moved back to Culpeper and bought a farm with the love of her life, Howard F. Green, Sr. "Dutch." The two married in 1947 and had their only child Howard F. Green, Jr. "Speedy" in 1958. During her life, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, laughing, farming, and spending time with her family. Her joy and love for life were contagious and will be remembered by all.

Mrs. Green is preceded in death by her husband, Howard F. Green, Sr. "Dutch"; her siblings, including her sister, Roberta Settle Fender, and four brothers Albin, Howard, Melvin, and Charles Lindberg; and her parents. Surviving Mrs. Green is her son, Howard F. Green, Jr. "Speedy"; his wife, Teresa Green of Culpeper, Virginia; and their daughter, Jody Green of Culpeper and Richmond, Virginia, as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm with a viewing for friends and family at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in the Culpeper National Cemetery (Chandler Street) at 2:00 pm.
