Jack was raised in Hundred, West Virginia with 4 brothers and one sister (Richard, John, King, David and Mary) and entertained the family with stories of country life – catching frogs, camping, and driving to the local bar without a driver’s license.

Jack was in the Merchant Marines in WWII and the Air Force in the Korean War. Jack was a huge supporter of our military and was very proud to be an American and former serviceman.

When he returned home from the war, Jack went to work as an accountant for NRECA and various property management companies in the DC area. Jack met Barbara, his wife, at one of those jobs.

Everyone who knew Jack loved him. He was a very giving and caring person without the ability to say “no” to anyone. Jack loved being a father, grandfather and uncle. He would do anything for his family!

He enjoyed traveling, with trips across the U.S. and to Europe after retiring. Jack enjoyed sharing stories of his trips, and the history he experienced growing up, with his family. To keep Jack's patriotic spirit alive, please consider a donation to Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Edward Chapman.

Jack will be missed terribly but he was blessed with a long happy life and we are all blessed to have known him.
