Edward Jozef Badowski 1946-2018

Born June 17, 1946, at the Bergen-Belsen displaced persons camp in Germany, Ed grew up in Rockford with his parents and 5 siblings. He later served in the United States Army as a medic. During his 40 years of marriage to Cheryl (Olson) Badowski, he was blessed with two daughters, Amy (Matt) Boeke and Julie Badowski, and four precious granddaughters, Amelia & Heather, Meredith & Rachel Boeke, whom he loved more than anything in the world. He worked hard as a mail carrier to provide for his family. He loved watching Fox News, going out to eat, and seeing his granddaughters. He really loved the sleepovers as much as they did. As a member of First Free Church, he had a passion for biblical Truth. He left this world January 12 with a huge smile as he finally met his Savior face to face.

Predeceased by his parents Antoni & Boleslawa (Magdziak) Badowski, and brothers Adam and John. Survived by sisters Barbara Kappen, Regina Gering, and Helen Badowski.

Visitation at First Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, on Thursday, January 18, from 5-6 p.m. Services at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to offset funeral costs.
