Edward "Mack" Penwell passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at his home in Morganton, North Carolina.
Mack Penwell was born June 21, 1944, in Bertie County, NC. He was the son of the late Henry Edward and Lena Mae Penwell. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. Mack was a man of many talents and hobbies. He loved gardening and fishing. Whatever Mack did, it seemed that he rose to the top, beginning as a high school state football champion to winning multiple North Carolina and a U.S. Croquet Championship. He was also inducted into the Croquet Hall of Fame. Mack never seemed to have a "sticky wicket". He will be missed by his family, friends and peers.
