Eileen (Behan) McGreavy, age 93 of Tiverton and Foster, RI, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis W. McGreavy for forty-nine years.

Born and raised in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Peter D. and Grace M. (Heap) Behan, she was a longtime resident of Tiverton, but most recently of Foster, RI. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, class of 1941. She often spoke with pride of her work at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company at a time when the company was called on by the U.S. Government to shift production to making military products to support the war effort. Eileen enjoyed the 10 years she worked at Firestone, but refocused her efforts to caring for her family after marriage. In addition to being a wonderful and devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she was co-owner of McGreavy's Package Store and the Village Pantry.

She was a devout communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Tiverton and St. Paul the Apostle in Foster. Eileen enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandson, reminiscing about her camping days in Little Compton at South Shore, visits to the White Mountains in NH, and especially about her life with Francis. Eileen excelled as a caregiver. She provided support and care for her parents and her uncle in their later years. She supported Francis in his many endeavors; she was his sweetheart, his partner and his biggest fan. Her example of quiet selflessness and faithful attention to the needs of others provided a powerful example of strength and character to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by a daughter, Catherine A. Sparks and her husband Richard of Foster; two sons, Peter W. McGreavy of Tiverton, and Michael J. McGreavy and his wife Lisa of Mattapoisett, MA; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
