Eleanor Frances Pfrommer Walb of 100 years passed peacefully Thursday morning November 2, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg Virginia. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ on August 20th 1917 of parents Eleanor Frances Thurber and John Pfrommer. Throughout her life, Eleanor lived in Greenwood Indiana, Dearborn Michigan, Springfield/East Longmeadow Massachusetts, Radford Virginia, Centreville Virginia, Eustis Florida, Spotsylvania Virginia and most recently was a resident at Dogwood Village in Orange, Va.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Allison Walb Jr, her grandson David Allen Pomeroy and her sister Katherine Bryant, and survived by her daughter Pamela Susan Pomeroy (David) of Spotsylvania, two sons Clyde Allison Walb III (Terry) of Denver, James Terry Walb (Jim) of Fire Island New York and her sister Grace Dickenson of Manchester, New Hampshire. Also surviving her are 8 grand children, 9 great grand children, and 7 great great grandchildren.

Eleanor was an active member of TOPS VA0734 local branch and was Sunshine Lady for the club for many years. During her life she had been Troop Leader, District Leader and Camp Director for the Girl Scouts of America and a Den mother for the Cub Scouts. Eleanor was a life long member of the Methodist Church.

Eleanor was an indomitable and invincible life force who loved to travel with her family coast to coast and overseas to Singapore, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea as well as Hawaii and Puerto Rico. She rode through the Grand Canyon, gazed upon the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls as well as walked the Great Wall of China and climbed the 100 steps of the Great Buddha temple in Japan.

There will be a visitation for family and friends at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, VA. on Saturday November 11, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm.

A Citadel Service at Quantico National Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
