Eleanor Joyce Asbelle, 78, of Huger, SC, eternal rest Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 in the Old St. Andrew's Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Rd., Charleston, SC, at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Masks and face coverings will be required.
Joyce was born June 30, 1943 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Margie Utsey Stoppelbein. Joyce ran the Ria-Scott Marina, and also worked as a nurse, a babysitter, and an apartment manager. She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for seven years. She loved all animals and horseback riding.
She is survived by son, Joseph Scott McInerny "Scotty" (Sharon Evans); her long term Fiancé William H. Searson "Buster"; and sister, Sharon Womack (Wayne).
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Utsey; mother, Margie U. Stoppelbein; and daughter, Anna Maria McInerny.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's of Charleston and Charleston Animal Society.
The family would like to thank First Light Nursing, especially Shaquanna Nicks; and Hospice of Charleston, especially Silvia and Renee.
