Elizabeth Bottoms Everett entered Eternal Life on October, 10, 2017. Born to Alice Elizabeth Walker and William Clay Bottoms on November 9, 1938. Betty spent her childhood in Atlanta, GA.

A brilliant woman, she matriculated at Emory University, earning a degree in Biology. A longtime resident of South Florida, Betty used her gifts serving as Chief Medical Technologist and Laboratory Director of Northwest Regional Hospital in Margate, Florida.

A faithful member of Parkway Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Betty demonstrated her love of Christ by holding a multitude of key leadership positions helping the church thrive and grow across a myriad of transitions.

Betty’s generosity touched the lives of her family, church, and countless individuals both known and unknown. As a woman of great strength, she always made those around her feel loved, valued, and empowered. She spent much of her time enjoying family, food, shopping and all things Alaska. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved animal family including her cats and most recently the family dogs, Justin, Coco, and Stevie.

Betty is survived by brother William “Bill” Bottoms, daughters, Lynn Everett and husband Elliott Shepherd of Deland, FL and Janet Everett Howell and husband Jeff Howell of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Sabrie, Carolyn, Maggie, Andy, Nick, Thomas and Miranda; nieces Janet and Sharon; and nephew Will. A special note of thanks to her caregiver and friend, Triny Pena who helped make each day a blessing.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, October 13, 3:00 p.m. at The Founder’s Chapel, White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Southlake, TX. The Reverends Tolli Macalik and Steve Lallier officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support, 4411 Lemmon Avenue, Suite 201, Dallas, Texas 75219 or online at www.genesisshelter.org.
