Elizabeth Elaine Lawler, 67, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 24, 2012, of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Nicholas and Nellie Meronuff Nestorick, the second of four children. Elizabeth was a graduate of St. Basil's Academy and Northeastern Hospital's School of Laboratory Technology in Philadelphia, PA. She married her high school sweetheart, 2nd Lt. Francis X. Lawler, Jr., USMC, in 1966 prior to his deployment to Vietnam. She was a loyal Marine wife for 26 years. Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank; and their five children, Elizabeth O'Keeffe, Sonia Nash, Francis III, Christopher and Jason Lawler; and four grandchildren, Timothy and Claire O'Keeffe, Christopher and Nitza Lawler. After retiring as a teachers assistant from Salem Elementary School in Virginia Beach, Elizabeth fulfilled her days as "BaBa" to her grandchildren. Elizabeth also leaves her brother, Richard Nestorick of Unchland, PA, and Jane Collins Nestorick of Philadelphia, PA and family. A special thanks to Kim Brewer and Frances Branch of Hospice Virginia for their support and comfort during this difficult time. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Fr. Mario Fulgenzi officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy (MDA) in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
