Elizabeth Florence Giles, 90 passed away peacefully Monday April 13, 2015 at Springfield Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Proctorsville, VT Jan. 2, 1925 the daughter of Raymond and Geneva (Merriam) Ayers. She was a lifelong resident of the Proctorsville and Chester area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Chester, the Rebekah's, the American Legion Post #16 Auxiliary and the Gassetts Grange #127. Elizabeth had worked as a seamstress for Mary Meyer.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Frank and Carol Balch of Chester, her daughter Marlene LaVoie of Baltimore, and her step daughter, Sandra Kidney of Wardsboro.
She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Shannon Balch, Austin, TX and Laurie Jackson of Chester, Tasha Naruansky, Austin TX, Raven Porrazzo-Snide of Charlestown, NH; 4 Great Grandchildren, Rose and Pearl Jackson of Chester, Ian Balch and Serena Naruansky of Texas.She was predeceased by her husband James Balch, son Robert Balch, brother Raymond Ayers also her second husband Ellery Giles and her step-son Donald Giles. Graveside committal services and interment will take place in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Springfield on Sunday Apr.26, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
