Pippin, Elizabeth Love Taylor (Betty), passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Born, May 4, 1932 in Kinston, NC, of loving adoptive parents, Ally and Helen Wiggins Taylor and biological mother, Velma Combs. Betty is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 63 years, Jerry. Also surviving are her children, Vicky Gross (Bob), Yolanda Reynolds, Dennis, and Scott; grandchildren Hillary, Grayson, Lauren, Tyler, and Reed, also her sister, Linda Spencel of New Bern, NC.

Betty's benevolence and charisma were infectious, as those in her life and family will attest. Not to rest as children grew and moved on, at the age of 50 she pursued and received a degree from VCU in interior design. Upon graduation, she worked for several years in her field providing design services for commercial projects. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren and all of her pets. Betty and Jerry loved to travel and Betty loved to shop. Combining these two passions made for a perfect day.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond. A private entombment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the dementia association of your choice.
